The aims and objectives of the Association are as follows:

• To serve as industry trade group for all crude oil refining member companies and operators in the oil and gas Industry of Nigeria.
• To represent the interest of its members in all ramifications for the enhancement and progress of their business development.
• To contribute to policy inputs and make  suggestions to Government, non-governmental institutions and related professional bodies on matters relating to refineries and the oil and gas industry.
• To serve as the rallying point for all members of the association among other industry groups, associations, and institutions.
•  Ensure progressive,  increased and sustainable domestic refining capacity
• Work towards making Nigeria the number one technical and export hub of top quality refined petroleum products
• Provide employment and support business opportunities, as well as CSR to our host communities first, and then beyond
• Promote and utilize innovations for cleaner refining processes so as to further reduce carbon emissions in Nigeria, in line with Net Zero Emmisions (NZE) by 2050, global strategic cleaner environmental goal
