About Us

The Crude Oil Refinery-owners Association of Nigeria (CORAN) is a non-profit association incorporated to promote the refining business in Nigeria. The association works closely with the relevant government agencies such as the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL), Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources, Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Federal Ministry of Environment, Federal Ministry of Finance and other Stakeholders in proffering sustainable and scalable solutions that provide investment-friendly legal and regulatory policies to boost the Nations refining capacity through the private sector.

CORAN is a voice for all refineries operating in Nigeria. We collectively work with our members to highlight key issues, challenges, and constraints, as well as draw attention to existing gaps where Government’s immediate intervention is needed.

With a sound collaborative commercial experience and a pragmatic approach in the Crude oil refining business, we provide our members with leading-edge strategies when entering or operating a refinery in Nigeria. CORAN is governed by an elected Executive Council, responsible for formulating policies and programs, in line with the vision of the association to entrench local content in the oil and gas Refining industry in Nigeria. The Executive council, supported by the employees of the association, oversees the day-to-day running of the association.

A Board of Trustees (BoT) who traditionally are senior industry leaders and past executives are tasked with the responsibility of providing high-level support and guidance to the Executive Council of the association.
